Music lovers, shoppers and diners alike will have plenty of new things to look forward to in Norfolk in 2024.

Here are seven things you don't want to miss in Norfolk next year.

1. Concerts

Some of the biggest names in music will perform at Thetford Forest in June as part of Forest Live.

Bryan Adams will play on June 20, with Sting taking to the stage on June 22 and Tom Jones following suit on June 28.

Take That are returning to Carrow Road on May 28 with special guest Olly Murs. 

2. A new seaside street food spot

A new street food hall is set to open in Wells next year.

The venue will sit above The Pop Inn cafe and arcade on the Quay.

Its owners hope to create a similar atmosphere to that of Yalm in Norwich, with customers able to order from a variety of different kitchens.

3. Gone Wild Festival

An action-packed family festival will take place at the Holkham Estate between August 8 and August 11.

This is the second year Gone Wild will run, with its first event being held last year in Devon.

The festival is being co-funded by TV adventurer Bear Grylls and former Royal Marines Officer Oli Mason and will be headlined by Example, Sam Ryder, Reef, Scouting for Girls and McFly.

4. IKEA pick-up zones

IKEA is collaborating with Tesco to roll out mobile pick-up points in Norwich, Thetford, King's Lynn, Great Yarmouth and Diss by autumn 2024.

More than 70 car park collection zones will be opened across the UK as part of a scheme to make shopping at IKEA more accessible for people in a range of locations.

It comes after the Swedish chain closed its store in Sweet Briar Road in Norwich in July 2021.

5. The White Horse Bar and Restaurant

Husband and wife team Carl and Katie Stairs have taken over Sammy's in East Runton.

They plan to completely refurbish it in time for a grand reopening in summer 2024.

The idea is to transform the venue into a luxury establishment that serves a range of food and creates a community-centred atmosphere for locals and tourists alike. 

6. West End shows

The city will welcome plenty of well-known West End theatre shows in 2024.

Norwich's Theatre Royal will be home to shows such as The Wizard of Oz (February 27 to March 3), Jesus Christ Superstar (April 8 to April 13), Grease (June 3 to June 8) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (September 24 to September 29). 

All these shows still have tickets on sale, but be quick as they are selling fast. 

7. UK's biggest 90s festival

Save the Rave, a 90s-themed touring festival, will be held in Norfolk for the first time in 2024.

The over-18s event will take place in Earlham Park, Norwich, on August 3.

Attendees can expect pop-up gin and prosecco bars, street food trucks and plenty of 90s anthems.
