From the all-star cast to its Norfolk links, here is all you need to know about the new Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air.
What is the plot of Masters of the Air?
This Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks-produced war drama will be nine episodes long.
It is based on Donald L. Miller's book of the same name and it is a salute to the brave men of the American Eighth Air Force who helped defeat Nazi Germany in the Second World War.
It follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group, also known as the "Bloody Hundredth" due to the heavy losses they suffered, as they conduct bombing raids over Germany and battle with terrifying conditions 25,000 feet in the air.
Some were shot down and captured, some were wounded or killed and some were lucky enough to make it home.

Who is in the cast for the series?
The all-star cast includes Austin Butler (Elvis) as Major Gale Cleven, Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin, Saltburn) as Lt. Curtis Biddick and Ncuti Gatwa (Doctor Who, Sex Education) as 2nd Lt. Robert Daniels.
Where is Masters of the Air set?
The mighty American Eighth Air Force was sent to bases in the East of England during the Second World War, known as The Friendly Invasion.
Between 1942 and 1945, 50,000 US personnel served across 18 airbases in Norfolk, including Horsham St Faith, Old Buckenham, Rackheath, Watton and Thorpe Abbotts, with the 100th Bomb Group based at the latter.

Where was the series filmed?
Despite being based in Norfolk, filming for the $250m production took place in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
When is Masters of the Air coming to Apple TV+?
The first two episodes premiere on Apple TV+ on January 26 2024, continuing weekly through to March 15.
