A dispersal order will be in place for two days along a major road due to dangerous driving and anti-social behaviour.

Police have issued the Section 35 dispersal order for the A134 Fornham Bypass on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds.

It follows reports of dangerous driving and anti-social behaviour which took place on the road on Saturday, May 4.

Inspector Andy Beeby of Bury St Edmunds police said: “The activity of racing and drifting on a highway is highly dangerous and causes significant harassment, alarm and distress to other road users and residents.

"This does not prevent legitimate use of the roads or businesses in the area, however any gatherings which commence will be required to disperse from the area. It’s also important to say police will seize vehicles used in such circumstances on the highway under s.59 of the Police Reform Act 2002.”
