A 60-year-old man was airlifted to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by air ambulance after being injured in a road crash.

The man sustained a serious hand injury in the crash which happpened on the B1118 at Wingfield, near Diss sometime before 4pm today.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance’s Anglia One helicopter was called because of the serious nature of an injury he sustained to his hand and landed in a field adjacent to the accident site at 3.55pm.

The doctor and paramedic on board provided initial treatment and gave him pain relief before flying him to hospital, where he arrived at 4.35pm. His condition was described as stable.
