Shocking dash-cam footage has emerged of a road rage incident on the A140 in Norfolk where a driver performed a U-turn and then rammed head-on into another car.

Jonathan Steward, who was travelling in the car with his two children, shared the footage of the incident which happened just after the roundabout at Dickleburgh on the A140 between Diss and Norwich in September.

It is claimed that there was some confusion at the roundabout prior to the footage beginning where Mr Steward said the Ford driver tried to clip his car.

The footage then shows the Ford driver stopping in the middle of the road for a period of time before moving off. The driver then goes out of sight of Mr Steward before performing a U-turn and driving straight towards him. Mr Steward slows his car to a stop as the car approaches him and rams into his car once from the front before clipping it from the side and driving off.

Mr Steward was in the car with his nine-year-old daughter and his 13-year-old son and said they were left traumatised by the incident.

“Frankly this was a terrifying ordeal from the start - I’m not sure exactly what was wrong with the driver or why they tried to ram us but it’s scary to think motorists like this are out there on UK roads,” he said. “We were all hugely nervous that the car would return and he would do something else that could harm us.

“Both my kids have been left totally traumatised by the whole thing, as have I, and have now become really nervous whenever we have to go on a car journey.”

Immediately after the event, Mr Steward handed the footage, which was captured on a Nextbase dash-cam, to the police.

Following a review of the case by the Traffic Justice Department, they decided to send the case to the Crown Prosecution Service to seek prosecution for dangerous driving.

After initially throwing out the case, an appeal was made and a further review of the incident is currently in progress.
