Breckland Lodge in Attleborough was gutted by a blaze last Tuesday, which is thought to have started in the roof.

Investigations as to what caused the inferno are still ongoing but a spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said officers have confirmed it was accidental.

Directors of the landmark Norfolk business have stated they are “100pc committed to rebuilding Breckland Lodge”.

Chairman Mervyn Negus said: “Having just flown back from Australia, I visited the site to understand the extent of the damage.

“The devastation inside is pretty severe in places. However some buildings will hopefully be saved including the coffee lounge and bar.”

Managers of Breckland Lodge have been working tirelessly since the fire to rebuild the damaged building, with hopes of coming back much stronger than before.
