A seven-month-old baby helped an anxious married couple breathe a huge sigh of relief after accidentally leading his mother to discover a precious long-lost wedding ring down the back of her new sofa.

Cloey Jordan, 24, from Wortwell, near Harleston, had bought the piece of furniture from Norwich couple Andy and Steph Freeman, who has previously cut off the bottom of the sofa in an attempt to search for the missing jewellery.

The couple, who married in September 2015, presumed it had vanished forever - until an agitated little Kaleb Clement threw his dummy across the room at his home.

When Miss Jordan went to seek it out, she stumbled across the Freemans’ ring down the back of their old sofa, which she had bought a few weeks earlier.

“I was told about the ring when I first bought the sofa but I never gave it a second thought until I found it,” Miss Jordan said.

“I was in disbelief.”

Having deleted her original messages with the Freemans, Miss Jordan posted to nine different Facebook groups in an attempt to track them down.

“Bless her, she was so happy,” mother-of-two Miss Jordan said of Mrs Freeman after handing back the ring.

“I would hope anyone else would have done the same thing. It seemed like the normal thing to do.”
