Thomson and First Choice announced today that from summer 2018 people will be able to jet to Heraklion on Crete. Thomson said it was part of a strategy to “ensure customers across the UK can fly from their local airport and stay at the finest hotels in some of the most captivating destinations”.

Karen Switzer, director of aviation planning for TUI UK & Ireland, said: “Adding more capacity from Norwich with the introduction of a new route to Heraklion, Crete demonstrates our commitment to both the airport and the local community in the area.”

Richard Pace, managing director of Norwich Airport, said: “We are delighted to hear that Thomson and First Choice are increasing the number of flights, holidays and destinations available from Norwich Airport. This decision further demonstrates their commitment to the airport.”

  • When will norwich airport spend some off the £10 fee on some outdoor cover? NIA is convenient but so old hat, walking to and from the aircraft in the rain and cold is not fun! Now let's pretend I'm the Boss at NIA. Ok team let's spend lots of Joe publics fee on a VIP lounge that nobody uses! We don't want the scummers to have soft seat's leave them the metal one's in the departure lounge! All agree! Yes boss Yes boss. Come on Nowich think about your everyday punters!

  • As norwich are doing so well they should scrap the exit tax of £ 10 if they are truly thinking of the people that use the airport. Been no improvements in years !!
