The service at St Remigius Church in Hethersett was led by the Rector of Hethersett, the Rev Derek McClean, who also remembered the 30th anniversary of the Enniskillen bombing in Northern Ireland by the IRA, which took place at the town’s war memorial on Remembrance Sunday in 1987.

He highlighted the forgiveness of Gordon Wilson, who lost his daughter in the bombing but campaigned tirelessly for peace.

Before the service, village organisations laid wreaths on the village war memorial and the names of those who lost their lives in the two world wars and the Cyprus crisis of the 1950s were read by John Head.
