A school has been able to raise extra funds to spend on school equipment and activities after a school gala.

Harleston CEVA Primary School holds the gala every year to raise funding for expenses the school budget can not cover.

Emma Brown, 33, from the Friends of Haleston CEVA, said: “We had more than 400 people there which is a good turn out when we have 460 pupils at the school. There were a lot of pupils who had brought their parents and grandparents.

“Last year we were able to buy a new stage costing £8,000 as the old one was 20 years old and was uneven.”

The school has been able to buy extra playground equipment and host a number of events for pupils including a year 6 graduation ceremony.

The gala saw families enjoy a puppet show, donkey rides, face painting and class stalls, the band Breeze Redwine also performed.
