Diss Town visited unbeaten league leaders Woodbridge and in a match of numerous chances were the architects of many of the goals that were conceded.
The Tangerines opened the scoring in the third minute when Nuno Nogueira played a fine through ball for Stephen Vincent to run onto and convert.
Mark Ray moved down the left and crossed for Matt Mackenzie to equalise five minutes later and Ray took advantage of poor defending in the 10th minute to make it 2-1. Debutant Mark Plunkett elected to turn back towards his own goal and having passed could only watch as Tom Ramsay slipped on the wet surface to allow Ray a clear run at goal and beat Jake Hayhoe.
Woodbridge added a third goal in first half added time, Mackenzie shooting in from an acute angle after Diss had failed to clear a free-kick.
A minute into the second half Ray headed in via the underside of the bar from a centre from the left to increase the lead. Two minutes later Virgilio Leitao was pulled back by a defender as he chased a through ball before being blocked at point blank range by the goalkeeper. But instead of taking a penalty against 10 men, Diss conceded a fifth goal on the counter-attack, Callum Sinclair shooting in from outside the area.
Good advantage play allowed Nogueira to advance and play the ball for Leitao to float a 53rd minute shot over the advancing keeper to reduced the arrears.
But the visitors were hit on the break again in the 63rd minute as Ray ran from near halfway and rounded Hayhoe to shoot in. The referee then played advantage to allow Kelsey Trotter to run clear and make it 7-2 in the 78th minute.
As the game moved into seven minutes of added time Diss built a move from the the back which ended with Vincent sending Charlie Lambe into the area. He seemed to be sent away from the danger area by Jake Green until the home centre half tripped him near the goal line but keeper Alfie Stronge saved Lewis Cooke’s penalty.
Two minutes later Plunkett pulled a goal back with a low shot into the far corner. In the next attack Vincent hit the bar from 20 yards out before Trotter rounded Hayhoe to complete the scoring.
