High-level gala provides good experience for Diss Otters

PUBLISHED: 10:34 20 April 2017

A small team of Diss Otters swimmers, some chasing elusive regional qualifying times, and others looking for long course experience before the upcoming East Region Championships, took to the water at University of East Anglia Sportspark in Norwich over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The competition was strong as it should be for a level one gala, with team from as far away as Dubai competing.

Although the Otters found it tough going there were ppersonal bests for Isaac Bachu, Joel Clarke, Thea Irvine and Matthew Tatum, with Joel and Matthew both making finals, the highlight being a third place for Joel in the 50m butterfly.

The full Otters’ squad was Isaac Bachu, Matthew Tatum, Joel Clarke, Matthew Munnings, Lottie Gates, Thea Irvine and Alise Small.
