Diss prepare to host annual Norfolk Big Rugby Weekend

The annual Norfolk Big Rugby Weekend returns tomorrow and is being held at Mackenders, the home of Diss RFC.

The senior action is again on the Saturday, with gates open from 9am and a beer tent and food all day, followed by music from Stumpy Joe in the evening.

Pitch one

11am – Bowl final – Diss II v North Walsham II

2.15pm – Intermediate Cup – Norwich Union v Thetford

4.30pm – Senior Cup – North Walsham v Norwich

Pitch two

11am – Junior Cup – Watton v UEA

2.30pm – Salver – Diss III v Norwich III

The junior finals follow on Sunday, with gates open from 9am and the first match at 11am, with six games featuring teams from Diss, Holt, North Walsham, Wymondham and West Norfolk between the ages of under-14 and under-16.

Fund-raising on both days will go towards Cancer Research UK and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
