A young South Norfolk-based band are set to play five gigs in the space of 48 hours as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Funk-rock band The Easy Brothers are gearing up for a hectic schedule over the bank holiday weekend with performances from Hunstanton to Diss, covering more than 200 miles on the road.

Drummer Joe Burns said: “With all the celebrations and events going on over the Jubilee weekend everyone has been trying to book reliable bands, so we’ve tried to help out where we can and fit everything in. We’ve even had to turn some down.”

The band, who count the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Average White Band, James Brown and local band Killamonjambo amongst their influences, have been busy rehearsing new material which they intend to record over the summer with more gigs planned in the Autumn.

The five-piece band are Robin Breeze, Jess Murray, James Burns, Will Allen, Joe Burns.

They will play the free Lifestyles Festival at Hunstanton Beach from 7pm on Friday, June 1, the free Diss Party in the Park on Saturday, June 2 from 1pm followed by a private party in Diss later in the day.

The band will play at Attleborough’s Jubilee celebrations from 1pm on Sunday, June 3 at a free concert and will perform at a at the Banham Barrel at 3.30pm on the same day.

And on June 30, The Easy Brothers will play at St Mary’s Church in Diss at midday and the Wymondham Music Festival at Ketts Park Community Centre from 3pm.
