Adnams has sold four East Anglian pubs - including the Two Brewers in Diss - to one of the country's biggest brewing chains in a £1.2m deal, it emerged last night.
Four freehold pubs - The Plasterers in Norwich, the Two Brewers and two pubs in Ipswich - have been sold to Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises (S&NPE).
Southwold-based Adnams has also sold a site in Yarmouth to S&NPE in a separate deal for an undisclosed sum.
Four other Adnams pubs in the East of England remain on the market - including Norwich's Steam Packet, which has a price tag of £325,000.
Adnams operates an 80-strong pub estate, a wine distribution firm, two boutique hotels and the Cellar & Kitchen chain of upmarket retail shops.
Anthony Jenkins, associate director at Christie & Co, said: "Despite the challenging conditions being currently faced by the pub market, the sale of these four sites demonstrates that the level of demand for freeholds continues to be high."
