As we begin the new year, there are plenty of works taking place to improve the roads in Norfolk and Waveney.

Here are the ones to be aware of this month to make your journeys smoother.

Church Lane, Sparham

Work will begin in Church Lane, Sparham, on Monday, January 9 to improve historic drainage issues in the area and is expected to last for four weeks.

A lane closure in Main Road will be active outside the junction with Church Lane, during the first, third and fourth week of the works.

Lynewood Road, Cromer

Essential maintenance work to the footpath, costing £96,000, is due to start shortly after Monday, January 9 in Lynewood Road in Cromer.

During this time, Lynewood Road near its junction with Northrepps Road will close. 

The work is expected to take around seven weeks to complete, subject to suitable weather conditions.  

Four roads closed in Lowestoft

Work is set to be carried out on the A1144 Normanston Drive, A1144 St Peters Street, on Rotterdam Road and Minden Road, in Lowestoft.

Resurfacing works will take place overnight with temporary road closures and diversions in place each evening from 8pm to 6am the following morning.

Road closures and diversion routes will be in force for the overnight works that will last a week between 8pm on January 16 and 6am on January 21.

A1066, Diss

The £150,000, seven-week-long drainage improvement works will begin on the A1066 Victoria Road, opposite its junction with Sawmills Road, in Diss, on Monday, January 9. 

It is expected to last for about seven weeks, with the last day of disruption on Monday, February 27.
