From a goat farm to a windmill, these top-rated Norfolk cafés can be found in unexpected locations.

1. The Goat Shed Kitchen, Honingham 

Where: The Goat Shed Farm Shop, Fielding Cottage, Colton Road, Honingham, NR9 5DJ

A huge farm shop was opened by Sam Steggles at Fielding Cottage in 2021, which makes its own award-winning goat's cheese. 

There is also a spacious café with indoor and outdoor seating, which overlooks the goats, and it recently launched Sunday roasts with all the trimmings.

2. Angela's Coffee Lounge, Diss

Where: John Doe of Diss, Sawmills Road, Diss, IP22 4DA

Angela's Coffee Lounge opened in October 2022 at the John Doe of Diss carpet and furniture superstore and it has proved a hit with customers.

The menu includes breakfast and brunch dishes, paninis, sandwiches, hot lunches, pastries and cakes.

3. Leslie Terrance Plant Shop and Café, Norwich 

Where: 128c Magdalen Road, Norwich, NR3 4AN

Have a bite to eat surrounded by greenery at this fabulous spot in Norwich's trendy NR3 postcode, with a huge range of plants to buy. 

You can order sandwiches and toasties, light lunches, fry-ups, pizzas and cakes, with vegan and gluten-free options.

4. Coffee with Flo, Wymondham

Where: Wymondham Centre Leisure, Norwich Road, Wymondham, NR18 0NT

Chef Florin Stoian opened a café in the reception area at Wymondham Leisure Centre in April 2022 and he has many regulars. 

The offering includes hearty brunch dishes and a pre-bookable afternoon tea for those looking for a special treat.

5. Woods Coffee Bar, Norwich 

Where: Woods Interiors, 27 Roundtree Close, Norwich, NR7 8SX

The owners of this interiors shop launched a café there in 2021 and it has proved very popular, especially with dog walkers at Mousehold Heath.

It serves a tasty range of breakfast and lunch dishes and you can also pre-order afternoon tea. 

Due to its success, they recently expanded with The Secret Bake bakery counter at the same site.

6. The Partea Hut, Dereham 

Where: The Partea Hut Tearoom, Dereham Windmill, Greenfields Road, Dereham, NR20 3TE

The Partea Hut, located next to the historic Grade 2-listed Dereham Windmill, is a hugely popular tea room in the town.

It offers lovely homemade cakes and lunches alongside hot and cold drinks and it reopens for 2024 on February 7.

7. No.33 in the Park, Norwich

Where: Chapelfield Gardens, Norwich, NR2 1SF

With a queue out the door most days at its Exchange Street café, it is no surprise that No.33 owner Nichola Hay wanted to open a second city branch.

Located in Chapelfield Gardens, in the former home of Pedro's and then Harry's, expect hearty breakfasts, brunches and lunch dishes with loads of vegan options.
