After the presents have been unwrapped and the Christmas turkey is eaten, some might be wondering how to spend their Boxing Day.

While others may be resting, it is one of the best days of the year to get out and about with family and friends.

From shopping to a stroll around a country estate, here are five things to do in Norfolk on Boxing Day.

1. Go for an icy plunge

North Norfolk remains the go-to destination for a Boxing Day swim where coastal communities gather to dip into the North Sea.

The Boxing Day dip will be returning in Mundesley this year with the swim taking place at 10am.

Mundesley Surf Lifesaving Club will be providing first aid for the swim and those braving the cold will take the plunge from the Lifeboat Station.

Those in Cromer can enjoy a festive dip from 10am and the event is raising money for Cromer Community Hospital and Friends.

2. Take advantage of Boxing Day Sales

Boxing Day is expected to be bigger than ever this year as shops and stores across the country look to sell their Black Friday stock at low prices.

You can expect to find deals at high-street giants such as Sports Direct and Currys, as well as online retailers including ASOS and Boohoo.

Some shops do close on Boxing Day to give their staff a longer break so make sure to check your favourite store is open before leaving the house.

3. Visit a National Trust site
