There are few better feelings than entering a warm pub after a crisp winter stroll in the countryside. 

For dog owners, it can be hard to know which pubs along the way will welcome their pooches. 

Here is a list of seven of the best Norfolk walks with a dog-friendly pub pit stop.

1. Norwich Riverside Walk

The Riverside Walk begins near Norwich Train Station and follows the River Wensum in a loop through the city.

It guides people past plenty of historic gems including the Norwich Cathedral, Pull's Ferry and Cow Tower.

The stroll takes around an hour, depending on speed and how many photos are taken along the way.

The Ribs of Beef pub, on the river in Wensum Street, makes a perfect stop-off for you and your pooch.

2. Blakeney Point Coastal Walk

This four-mile walk begins at Cley Beach and loops the Blakeney National Nature Reserve.

Explore the beautiful north Norfolk sand dunes and keep an eye out for some seals - but be careful not to cross the marked-off areas in place to protect the pups.

Stop in at the Kings Arms pub in Blakeney's Westgate Street for a rest and a hearty meal.

3. Sheringham Circular

The Sheringham Circular is a six-mile walk around part of the north Norfolk coast.

With sweeping landscapes, picturesque cliffs and vast parks and woods, the trip is a perfect way for you and your pet to connect with nature.

The Crown pub, which sits right on the Sheringham coastline, serves delicious food and welcomes dogs.

4. Bramerton Walk at Wherryman's Way

This route begins by following the rivers at Bramerton Common, a beautiful area to stop for a while and soak in the scenery.

It winds down footpaths and along country lanes through the lovely village of Bramerton before dropping you beside the Water's Edge pub in Woods End.

The Water's Edge is a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice awarded establishment with top-quality food available.

It offers dog-friendly wooden pods in its garden - perfect for those rainy afternoons.

5. Blickling Estate

The Blickling Estate covers 4,777 acres of gorgeous parkland, woodland and farmland.

The variety of sights to see makes it a great spot to take your dog.

The Buckinghamshire Arms is a traditional English pub located on the grounds.

It offers an extensive menu to help you recuperate after your stroll and is dog-friendly.

This circular route begins at the Horsey windpump and ventures towards the beach.

Horsey beach is a popular seal-spotting location so visitors are urged to explore with caution and keep their dogs on leads.

The path continues back into and around Horsey village - the perfect time to stop for a break at The Nelson Head pub.

The pub won a 2023 Tripadvisor award so guests can expect delicious food and warm service. 

7. Thornham

Thornham is a quaint countryside village located in north-west Norfolk.

Its rural location and rich history combine with the nearby saltmarshes and sand flats to create a unique landscape to explore.

The 3.5-mile route circles the outskirts of the village without straying too far from necessary amenities.

The Lifeboat Inn is a perfect place to stop and rest with a spot of lunch.
