1. Royal Families - Crown Making, Norwich

Where: Norwich Theatre Stage Two, Theatre Street, Norwich, NR2 1RL

When: February 20, 10.30am-11.30am

Price: £7 per child (recommended for ages 4-6) with one free adult ticket, £2.50 per additional adult, book and see the full half-term programme at norwichtheatre.org

Create a dazzling array of crowns and accessories from unconventional materials, with this activity celebrating the return of Six the Musical to the Theatre Royal. 

There will also be free Tudor-themed crafts in the upstairs café at the Theatre Royal on Monday and Tuesday of half term (February 19 and 20).

2. Norwich Science Festival, Norwich

Where: Various locations - festival hub at The Forum, Millennium Plain, Norwich, NR2 1TF

When: February 17-24 

Price: Events are individually priced, with many free activities, book and see the programme at norwichsciencefestival.co.uk

This popular festival returns over the half-term holiday with a jam-packed programme of talks, shows, workshops and performances for all ages. 

There are more than 200 events, including free activities such as the Under the Sea Trail at Chantry Place and The Explorium with drop-in sessions at The Forum.

3. Wellies and Wonder, Holkham

Where: Holkham Park, NR23 1RH 

When: February 18-24

Price: Free, Holkham Park car park is open from 10am to 4pm and it costs £5 per car

Explore the beautiful parkland and get stuck into a whole host of free activities for the whole family. 

This includes a welly hunt around the park and you need to follow clues to find them all.

4. Peter Pan-themed activities, King's Lynn 

Where: St George's Guildhall, 29 King Street, King's Lynn, PE30 1HA

When: February 20, 22 and 23

St George’s Guildhall is inviting youngsters on a magical adventure to Neverland over the school holidays.

The events are Play-in-a-Day (February 20, 10.30am-2.30pm, ages 11-18), The Dragon Arts Holiday Club (February 22, 10am-1pm, ages 5-11) and Peter Pan Family Sessions (February 23, 10.30am and 12.30pm, ages 4-11 and accompanying adults required who go free).

5. Guess Poo Trail, Sheringham

Where: Sheringham Park, NR26 8TL

When: February 17-25, 10am-3pm

Price: £3 trail sheets (pick up from the welcome kiosk in the car park), parking is free for National Trust members and £6.50 for non-members

Locate information stations lurking in the landscape and match animals to their droppings.

Collect a letter at each station to reveal a password that unlocks a tasty treat at the Courtyard Café, which closes at 3.30pm.

Join Garlic Theatre for a funny afternoon with clowning and a host of colourful puppets.

Price: Free

The UK's largest invertebrate zoo The Bug Parc, which is based in Lenwade in Norfolk, will be bringing some of their most popular bugs to the Castle Quarter.

Visitors can get up close to a whole range of creepy crawlies, minibeasts and insects - including tarantulas and scorpions.
