A school choir has kicked off Easter celebrations by entertaining residents in a retirement community.

The Harleston Sancroft Academy choir performed at the retirement community's Easter Open Day.

The event was held at the Waveney Place development in Mendham Lane, Harleston, run by McCarthy Stone.

The 40 children sang a selection of hymns and feel-good melodies to an appreciative audience of homeowners and guests.

As well as the music, guests were treated to an array of chocolates and confectionery, and the children received Easter eggs in thanks for their performance.

David Meachem, divisional sales and marketing director for McCarthy Stone, said: "Opportunities such as these help us to foster intergenerational connections in the communities close to our developments, which is a key focus at McCarthy Stone.”

Sarah Ablett, primary phase music lead at Harleston Sancroft Academy, added: “The children were incredibly excited to sing for the second time at Waveney Place and therefore worked really hard to deliver yet another brilliant performance."
