The worst areas for home burglaries in Norfolk have been revealed as the number of break-ins hits a three-year-high.
Police recorded more than 890 home burglaries in the last year.
Norfolk remains one of the safest in the country for home break-ins but data obtained by Legal Expert via Freedom of Information requests found that 2,641 residential break-ins have been recorded in the last three years.
But of the 898 home invasions logged last year 2024, just 32 (four per cent) resulted in someone being charged or summonsed.

In the majority (51pc) of cases in 2024, police concluded that the investigation was completed and that no suspect was identified.

While in 13pc of break-ins, police cited that a suspect was identified but that ‘evidential difficulties’ prevented further action.
Investigations are still under way in 60 cases.
Norfolk Chief Constable Paul Sanford said: “In the last 12 months burglary offences have increased by 5.3pc, following a three-year decline.
"Even with the increase, which equates to 101 offences, Norfolk has the second lowest burglary rate in the country.

"We know this is an intrusive crime, and I appreciate statistics provide little comfort to people who have been the victim of burglary, but we investigate these crimes robustly and relentlessly target offenders to prevent further crimes from happening.”

The police data also revealed the region’s home burglary hotspots in 2024.
Norwich, (East, North, South and West) was the most targeted area for home invasions with 262 offences recorded last year.

A total of 42 residential break-ins were logged in North Yarmouth and a further 35 in Kings Lynn North.
Downham Market had 34 burglaries while South Yarmouth had 26 and Thetford had 22.
The lowest numbers were in Long Stratton, Harleston, Reepham, Sheringham, Poringland and Bradwell, which all saw fewer than five.
