A South Norfolk theatre troupe tours Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night around parks, pubs and village halls

Roughcast Theatre which was set up by its founder Paul Baker 17 years ago took its performance to the Mere in Diss last night.

And local theatre lovers turned up to the novel venue with deck chairs, picnic rugs, picnics and even fish and chips.

The company does an outdoor tour of Shakespearan comedy every two years and has even taken its productions to France.

Previous venues have included castles, croquet lawns and country houses as well as parks, pubs and village halls.

Artistic Director, Mark Burridge said: ' We keep going even if it rains but have to stop if it becomes unbearable for the audience.

We are nothing if not adaptable when touring, and the audience is as stalwart as the performers.'
