An appeal against the decision to turn down plans for a development of new homes on the edge of Eye is set to be heard in the New Year.
Mid Suffolk Council rejected outline planning application for up to 126 dwellings on land adjoining Tuffs Road and Maple Way in Eye in March saying the proposed scale of development would "push urbanising impacts out into the surrounding rural countryside of an open character".
Eye Town Council had objected to the plans citing traffic concerns and arguing the land is outside the existing settlement boundary.
AAH Planning Consultants on behalf of the applicants have now lodged an appeal with a public hearing set to take place at Eye Town Hall on January 21-24.
