Pupils, parents, governors, friends and staff of Chapel Road School in Attleborough celebrated 50 years of the school last week with various activities.
Pupils enjoyed an Around the World Day, drumming sessions, dancing, arts, face painting, cricket coaching, outings to Great Yarmouth and Pettitts Animal Adventure Park, sports day activities revolving around the past 50 years and a healthy lunch.
Former headteacher Phil Thomas and Ethel Daniels, the deputy head to the first headteacher, joined current head Karin Heap to cut the celebratory cake made for the occasion.
Displays of photographs over the past 50 years were displayed in school.
After news, reported by the Mercury last week, of the cancellation of the Building Schools for the Future programme, the event helped lift the morale of parents, pupils, governors, friends and staff.
