An Attleborough student had a rare opportunity to hold the London 2012 Olympic torch during a sports-themed conference for young people.
Emily Banks, who is Head Girl at Attleborough High School, was picked to attend the Youth Trust Conference at Twickenham rugby club as a Young Sports Ambassador.
During the event, she heard Olympic gold medallist Jonathan Edwards share his sporting experiences and she explored ways of promoting the games back in Norfolk.
Emily was chosen by staff to represent the school due to her passion and talent for sport, especially netball.
As a sports ambassador her main role is to lead a school sports organising committee to get more students involved in a wide range of fitness-related activities.
She said: 'This day showed me opportunities I could take on and how to improve the skills I would need to be a leader on the sports committee. The whole day was inspiring and being one of the few to hold the Olympic torch is an honour.'
