A South Norfolk bowls club is holding an open afternoon to encourage more people to try the sport.

On Sunday, April 29, Scole and District Bowls club, in Ransome Avenue, Scole will be inviting members of the public to try their hand at a game of bowls and discover whether the sport is for them.

Suitable for people of all ages and ability, bowls is famously a sport which takes just second to learn but a life time to master.

Working individually or in teams of up to four people, players compete to roll one or more of their bowls as close as possible to a small white ball known as the ‘jack’. Each counting bowl is worth one point, with the winning team the first to reach 21 points.

The open day will run from 2-4pm, all equipment will be provided with those wishing play asked to wear flat shoes. Teas and coffee will also be provided.
