A glass door panel had been smashed and at least two men were seen inside the store by a member of the public.

One was wearing dark clothing and had his face covered.

The men threatened the passerby before leaving the scene in an old, dark-coloured estate car.

It has not yet been established what was stolen but scenes of crime officers will examine the store this morning.

The shop remains closed and cordoned off.

Anyone with any information about the incident should contact Stowmarket CID on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
