Police were called to Church Street in Eye at around 12.40am this morning after a passerby reported a burglary at the Co-op.
A glass door panel had been smashed and at least two men were seen inside the store by a member of the public.
One was wearing dark clothing and had his face covered.
The men threatened the passerby before leaving the scene in an old, dark-coloured estate car.
It has not yet been established what was stolen but scenes of crime officers will examine the store this morning.
The shop remains closed and cordoned off.
