A car has ended up in a ditch in Pulham Market, near Diss this afternoon.

The incident in Colegate End was reported at 4.54pm to the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, but by the time firefighters arrived the driver had escaped the vehicle with help from members of the public

A spokesman for the fire service said: 'Appliances from Long Stratton, Carrow and Acle along with support from the surface water rescue boat from Carrow attended a report of a single car in a water filled ditch with one person inside.

'The occupant of the car had self released with the aid of members of the public before the arrival of the brigade, crews made the scene and vehicle safe.'
