Forget about jelly and ice cream. It was chips, chips and more chips please when a group of Chernobyl children were treated to a celebration party at Diss.
The 13 children from Belarus are staying with families in the town and surrounding area as guests of the Diss Friends of Chernobyl's Children charity.
The youngsters will spend a month in Norfolk annually over a five year period to improve their life expectancy - the area where they live still suffering from the contamination caused by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
And they had great time at the party at the Monsters children's indoor activity centre, organised by owner Cathy Last.
“They played on everything and had a lovely time, and they roared about like mad. And they were in seventh heaven about burgers in chips.
“When I asked what they would like for tea they said chips - it's something they don't have,” she said.
The fun event was just one of the activities the children will be treated to during their stay.
They will also receive medical care, with each visit expected to add two years to their life expectancy.
