A south Norfolk-based dance school is celebrating after qualifying for both European and world dance championships.

Several dancers at LK's School of Dance competed in Peterborough for the qualifying stages of the European dance championship and world dance championship.

The dance troupe called Diss-tinction, named after Diss, will now fly out to Germany for three days on May 1 for the Europeans and in August dancers Leah Edwards and Charlotte Adams will be flying to Glasgow to compete in the world competition.

Lynne Bailey, dance school principal, said: 'I am so proud of everyone from LK's that danced, even if they did not qualify, they were still amazing.

'All of the hard work and hours of training are paying off.

'Not only did my team qualify, but they actually came first.

'I would like to give thanks to Place Farm in Stuston, who allowed me to use their granary free of charge for a bit of intense training for my street crew.'

'We are also hoping to do some fundraising over the coming weeks to help fund travel and accommodation for the pupils.'

LK's School of Dance has been established in Norfolk since 2007.

The dance school has grown significantly in that time with classes across Eye, Diss, Long Stratton and Norwich.

Dancers from the school have also performed at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End, the O2 Arena and many other UK theatres.

Ms Bailey said: 'We compete all over the country and recently came away with 109 trophies from one competition.

Another string to the dance school's bow is bounce fit, this is exercising on mini trampettes for women.
