A group of air cadets from Diss spent a cold winter's weekend taking part in a fieldcraft training exercise at RAF Barnham, near Thetford.
Members of 1070 (Diss) Squadron, joined forces with 1986 (Wymondham), 432 (Woodbridge) and 863 (Thurston) squadrons for the first time with training in tactical movement, camouflage and concealment and a Sunday morning first aid exercise.
Cadet Zak Read, a pupil at Long Stratton High School, said: 'We had a really fantastic time. It was my first winter weekend away and despite the cold I really enjoyed every minute. We were kept busy from the moment we woke up to when we finally crept into our bashas, so I didn't get a chance to get cold!'
Flight Lieutenant Emma Dixon, commanding Officer of 1070 Squadron, who organised the weekend, said: 'It was really good to see the cadets and staff having such fun. I also think its great to run these events with other squadrons, the cadets get to make new friends and the staff can share ideas and best practice.'
Diss Air Cadets parade every Tuesday and Thursday, at the Drill Hall, Sunnyside, Diss, 7pm until 9.30pm.
