Morning commuters suffered major disruption after Victoria Road was closed for more than an hour following the incident that took place at about 8.45am.
A lorry clipped the electricity pole and cables, which interrupted power to 98 homes in the area. No-one was injured in the crash near Diss Swim and Fitness Centre.
A spokeswoman for EDF Energy said that workmen had to isolate the power to a further 49 customers to carry out repairs and engineers were working hard to resolve the matter. The incident did not affect the nearby leisure centre.
