DISS-based specialist personal injury law firm Comercrawley has become a major sponsor of the East Anglian air ambulance.
A long-standing supporter of the air ambulance, the firm, which specialises in helping clients pursue personal injury claims, also has close links with other charities which frequently help its clients, including Headway, the Brain Injury Association, and SIA and the Spinal Injuries Association.
Comercrawley's links with the ambulance go back to 2001 when the charity was established. The firm acted for the first patient in the region to be helped by the service.
Director Ian Comer said: “We're delighted to be supporting the charity, particularly as there is such a strong link with the work that we do in helping the victims of accidents. The EAAA is a popular and highly respected charity in the region and we can think of no cause better deserving of our support. We're looking forward to building a close relationship with the charity team this year.”
As part of the arrangement, Comercrawley's logo will appear on the tailfin of Anglia One and the firm's staff will meet the crew and receive a guided tour of the charity's operations and air ambulances.
The EAAA currently operates two helicopters: Anglian One, which covers Norfolk and Suffolk, and Anglia Two, which covers Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire and carries a doctor from emergency medical charity Magpas. The EAAA also maintains a back up aircraft.

It costs £3 million per year to run the three helicopters, to provide the ancillary operations and supply the advanced medical equipment that they carry.

Comercrawley has also pledged to help support a bookshop in Harleston which donates half its annual profits to the air ambulance. It is to make it's office available for people to drop off their old books which will then be taken to the Harleston shop to be sold.
