The play area will be closed to the public during the work which is expected to take about four to six weeks, reopening on November 18.
Aimed at older children, the new equipment replaces the existing equipment which is more than 10 years old and has been discontinued by manufacturers making its upkeep costly.
Meanwhile work to install new equipment at the skatepark at Diss Sports Park, on Shelfanger Road, will begin on October 21 with it reopening on November 1.
Both are part of a boost to recreation facilities in Diss and Roydon being paid for with 106 funding that has come through agreements with developers.
