Town playground and skatepark to close for revamp

The play area in Diss Park and the town's dedicated skatepark are both to close next month as work is carried out on revamping recreation facilities.

A major revamp of the play equipment in the park costing around £100,000 will begin from October 7.

The play area will be closed to the public during the work which is expected to take about four to six weeks, reopening on November 18. The new equipment will be revealed with a 'grand opening'.

Aimed at older children, it replaces the existing equipment which is more than 10 years old and has been discontinued by manufacturers

Meanwhile work to install new equipment at the skatepark at Diss Sports Park will begin on October 21 with it reopening on November 1.

Both are part of a boost to recreation facilities in Diss and Roydon being paid for with 106 funding that has come through agreements with developers.
