Diss pool hit by power cut

The main swimming pool at Diss Swim and Fitness Centre is set to reopen tomorrow after being hit by a Christmas power cut.

Electricity to 2,000 homes and business was interrupted for several hours on Christmas Day, which affected the pool's heating system and chemical mix.

Engineers have been working to restart the boilers at the sports facility in Victoria Road and reheat the swimming pool to the right temperature.

A spokesman for South Norfolk Council said the main pool had been closed for four days and lessons should resume on Saturday.
