Some of the youngsters made cakes and bookmarks, and others potted sunflowers seeds to sell to parents and fellow pupils. Then, having considered their future occupation, the groups involved came to school on Friday dressed for a day at work.

The project was timed to coincide with national Fair Trade Fortnight, with the children involved in a range of activities to develop their economic and industrial awareness.

This included year groups visiting the fire station and talking to the fire fighters, having a look behind the scenes at the Happy Palace Restaurant, and visiting the town's Tesco store.
