The visitor signpost that stands outside the former tourist information office on Mere Street was left partially pushed over after the incident that took place on the weekend of March 23-24.

Police said the incident had been caught on the town's CCTV and appeared to involve a group of five people. Investigations are continuing.

The South Norfolk Council owned signpost has now been returned to its upright position.

It is not the first time street furniture has been damaged by late night revellers in Diss. Last August a brick post box was pushed over and left unrepairable in Blomefield Road.
