Diss Tandoori received three stars under the Food Standards Agency hygiene ratings after an inspection carried out by South Norfolk Council.

The restaurant, on Shelfanger Road, was shut last November after environmental health officers discovered a host of problems, but reopened in January with owner Sahill Shahriya saying it had instigated new health, cleaning and pest control policies.

The latest hygiene rating says food handling is "good" while the cleanliness and condition of facilities, including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control, is deemed "generally satisfactory".

It added: "System or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future."
