Drivers dies as car hits tree

One man died and another was seriously injured today when a car left the road and crashed into a tree.

The single vehicle accident happened shortly after 2am on the Old Ipswich Road at Yaxley, and involved a blue Hyundai.

The single vehicle accident happened shortly after 2am on the Old Ipswich Road at Yaxley, and involved a blue Hyundai.

The driver was killed and a rear seat passenger, who suffered serious injuries, was taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital. The front seat passenger was unhurt.

The road between Yaxley and the A140 was closed for more than six hours.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash is asked to call Suffolk police on 01473 613500.
