A man has been charged with a series of offences after a car collided with a bus before fleeing the scene.

Police were called at around 3.50pm on Tuesday, July 3 to reports of a collision between a bus and a car on the A140 at Dickleburgh.

The driver of the car, a Toyota Avensis, was arrested at the scene after a seach by a police dog unit.

Dean Phillips, 40, of Wilberforce Road in Norwich, has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, driving without a license, using a motor vehicle without insurance and failing to stop following a road traffic collision.

He is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 17.

No-one is believed to have been injured.

The incident caused one lane of the roundabout to be closed while the vehicle was recovered. It was re-opened again at around 7pm.
