A young sister and brother have been making inroads into athletics with a string of wins in Norfolk and London.
Eva and Maxwell Barton, of Diss, took first place in the girls and boys Runthrough Kids Mile at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Velopark in London on Saturday, January 26.
10-year-old Eva also broke the course record for junior girls with a winning time of 6m29s, and won the Norfolk County indoor championships under 11’s 60 metres for City of Norwich Athletics Club in King’s Lynn on Sunday.
On January 6 Eva, who said she wants to be like Dame Jessica Ennis, won a gold medal at the Norfolk County cross country championships in Thetford, also for City of Norwich Athletics Club.
Both Eva and Maxwell attend Riddlesworth Hall school in Diss on sports scholarships and will be competing at the upcoming National Primary Schools Cross Country finals in Leicestershire on March 23.
