Mr Joseph, who lives near Diss, once lived in New Street, Cromer, and wanted to return to the area to shoot his first feature film.

He recruited five actresses for the roles and they have been filming in Sheringham and Cromer.

The film will wrap this week and then he needs to find more money to get the equipment to edit the film, called Wrecking Ball, which he hopes to premiere in October and show at a film festival.

Mr Joseph, who is writer. director and producer of the film, said: "My ultimate model is Kevin Smith who made Clerks when he was working full-time at a convenience store.

"I thought this would be a great location for a film. I'm amazed more people don't use it. I'm hoping that people will see it, blog about it, and get the word out."

He works as a salesman in Diss and has a weekend job at No 1 fish and chips in Cromer.

"I've already spent about £7000 on the film," he added. "I've only made short student films before, so this is a huge risk.

"I've got an MA in film and media productions from the University of Lincoln, Wrecking Ball is a character-driven drama with subtly comedic elements to it. It's influenced by Richard Linklater's Boyhood film and there's a touch of Jim Jarmusch in it.

"It's mostly been filmed in Sheringham. We did eight days by the Beeston Bump. We have also shot in Overstrand and in rented accommodation units. If I can make it through this, then anyone can."

Wrecking Ball has an entirely female cast, comprising Tabby Foster, Lucy Cooper, Erin Olivia-Read, Hannah Laresa Smith and Annie Knox.

All the actresses have some experience whether in theatre or as extras in films, and Miss Smith has just returned from shooting a film in Naples, Italy.

"I did 10 days and it was filmed in a gritty part of Naples. I had to speak one line in Italian," she said.

The women said they had formed really strong friendships during the shoot.
