A final call has been made for nominations for the 2008 South Norfolk Council design awards.

Held annually, the competition aims to give due recognition to the district's qualities and local expertise in new building design, extensions, conservation and landscape design. And the winners will be celebrated at an awards event on November 14.

The authority's design champion, Cllr Martin Wynne said: “The standards reached in previous years are constantly being matched and improved upon. We expect to see the very best in inspirational design this year too, not just in buildings but also innovation in energy conservation features and imaginative landscaping schemes.

“There is still time for entries to be submitted by owners, clients, architects, landscape architects, designers, contractors, manufacturers, parish councils, amenity societies or any member of the public. The closing date for entries is Monday 1 September.”

Entries will be judged by an assessment panel comprising councillors and officers and an external assessor nominated by the Norfolk Association of Architects, on behalf of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
