They may have felt like donning breathing apparatus after firefighters from Diss were called in to tackle a muck heap on fire.

One appliance from Diss attended the blaze on Folly Lane in Bressingham after reports shortly before 10.30am on Tuesday that the heap had caught fire.

Folly Lane is an isolated rural lane that runs between Fersfield and Bressingham Common leading north from the High Road in Bressingham.

Firefighters used hose reel jets and hand appliances to extinguish the fire.
