YOUNG people in education or training for a job are being urged to apply for help from a Diss-based foundation.

Anyone under 25 years old who attended school in Diss can apply to the Taylor and Hammond Foundation Trustees who meet twice a year to distribute funding to young people.

Young people are invited to apply for financial help to further their education or training. The Trust will also consider applications for one-off funding towards special achievements.

The aim of the Taylor and Hammond Educational Foundation is to promote education, including social and physical training. It also assists applicants in undertaking higher and further education to a first degree level, including the purchase of specialist equipment, tools, instruments or books. Awards may be made to suitable applicants to assist them to get started in their chosen career whether it be academic or non-academic.

Applications will only be accepted on the official application form and this is obtainable from the Clerk to the Trustees Pat Simms, at 3 Riverside Norfolk IP22 4BE.

Closing date for receipt of completed applications is March 29, 2008
