Attleborough Amateur Boxing Club is going quackers and organising a grand Easter duck race on Good Friday.

Up to 1,000 plastic birds will be raced along the river with people invited to sponsor and name a duck for 1.

It could see a Donald or Daffy going beak to beak with Ricky Hatton or Mike Tyson as they bob down the course on April 10, with the top prize of 50 cash going to the winner.

Club secretary Nikki Royden and her young daughters Eve, 5, and three-year-old Scarlett dressed up in cute duck costumes to launch the sponsorship forms and tickets. And all monies raised will be used to purchase additional training equipment for the club, which has enjoyed overwhelming success since it was formed in January.

It already has more than 35 full members, while many others have enjoyed free taster sessions.

As result, the club has had to split into junior and senior sessions for the training on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings at Attleborough High School. All levels of boxing experience are catered for, from the complete novice to competition level, and the cost per session is 1 juniors, 2 seniors.

Sponsor forms and tickets for the ducks can be obtained from the club website at www.attleboroughamateurboxingclub.co.uk where more details of the race day will be posted on line.
