A south Norfolk nursery that was found to provide an unsafe learning environment for children last year has received a 'good' rating from inspectors following a change of venue and management.

All Saints Nursery at Winfarthing, near Diss, was ordered to improve 12 months ago after Ofsted officials rated it as 'inadequate' in several areas.

But staff spoke of their delight this week after a new report deemed that the nursery provided 'good' early years provision.

It comes after All Saints Nursery had a complete change of staff and moved from a mobile classroom at the primary school to the village hall following an inspection last April where it was found there was inadequate provision for protecting children from harm and neglect. The quality of teaching and learning was also rated as inadequate.

But the new inspection carried out at the nursery's new premises at Winfarthing Village Hall, in Hall Road, last month found that the overall quality of learning was 'good' and that the children 'thrive and make good progress'.

The newly formed management and team of staff was praised for providing an exciting range of activities, challenging learning, and good links with the local primary school.

Belinda Morrell, manager of All Saints Nursery, said a lot of hard work had gone into turning the nursery around and staff were 'really pleased' with the latest Ofsted report.
